Discover the Heart of Morocco through Unique Handwoven Rugs

LALLA MELODA is an exclusive collection of handwoven Berber rugs crafted by women from rural communities in Morocco and carefully selected by us.

Discover the Mrirt rugs, the epitome of luxury in the world of Moroccan Berber rugs.
Each piece, handwoven in the traditional region of Beni Mellal-Khénifra, is a perfect blend of ancient craftsmanship and modernity.

The M'rirt (or Beni M'rirt) Berber rugs are made in the Beni Mellal - Khénifra region, in the Middle Atlas, in central Morocco, using 100% natural sheep wool, dense and very soft.
They are the most prestigious and high-end Moroccan Berber rugs.
The weaving is particularly tight, which results in a denser rug, requiring more wool to create.

The M’rirt rugs are also washed and rubbed after being woven, which gives them a velvety feel and a unique softness.
They are very thick and plush, and they often feature motifs similar to Beni Ouarain rugs.
Typically in neutral colors like beige or gray, their motifs are often geometric, giving them a very contemporary look.

The main difference from the Beni Ouarain rugs is that after weaving, the rug is washed and rubbed at least 3 times, which makes the wool incredibly soft and silky.
Thanks to this technique, which is not applied to Beni Ouarain rugs, the look and feel are different.
The wool strands are no longer visible as the wool is brushed.

M’rirt rugs are considered prestigious rugs...
